New Entrants
– We have five debuts this week. First, let’s start off with Zayn collaborating withPARTYNEXTDOOR in their song Still Got Time. I’m not really wild about this one. It’s about telling a girl that she should stop looking for love because she’s young and there’s plenty of time. The beat here is just not interesting to me. It’s in blue right now, but it’s pretty close to red than it is to green.
– Our next debut comes from Kelahni collaborating with G-Eazy in their new single titled Good Life from The Fate of the Furious: The Album soundtrack. I’ve only heard this song one time, but I was impressed by it on the first listen. I love Kelahni’s vocals in the song, and G-Eazy’s rapping is pretty good as well. I’m hoping it stays here for a while.
– Remember Jason Derulo? Well, he’s back! And he joined forces with Ty Dollar $ign and Nicki Minaj on their new single titled Swalla. Looking back at Jason Derulo’s work, songs like Ridin’ Solo, Talk Dirty, and Cheyenne are in my opinion some of his best singles. Even Want To Want Me, which became one of the biggest songs of 2015, was pretty good too. Swalla, is very different compared to his previous singles. It has that urban feel, and the beat here sounds pretty cool. We’ll see how long it lasts.
– We have more DNCE, this time with their new single titled Kissing Strangers. To being honest, I can’t say I’m liking this one at all. I’ve personally heard better from this group. Maybe it’ll grow on me, but I doubt it. NEXT!
– Finally, we have more Machine Gun Kelly, and he’s teamed up with Hailee Steinfeld with their new single At My Best. It’s fresh and definitely something different I like to hear at this moment. I like their vocals in this one. I kinda like it for now, but I can’t really see it sticking with me in the long run though.
Still Got Blurbs
– Let’s start with the exits this week. First off, I’m thrilled to see the departure of Cake which spent only four weeks here, so no complaints about that. Then, there’s Don’t Leave, which unsurprisingly flopped after doing nothing on the countdown. All Time Low had been here for a while, but I know some people are gonna be sad about it leaving. Also, we have two songs that I’m sad about leaving. Now that Side To Side has officially left, this is the first time since April 9, 2016 that we do not have a Ariana Grande song on the countdown. I enjoyed that song from the first listen, much like I did enjoy her other singles. I will miss Ariana Grande on the countdown, at least for a while. Finally, there’s 24K Magic, which I still think is one the best comeback singles for Bruno Mars. While I know there are some people happy about it’s departure, I’m not one of them. Goodbye 24K Magic. You will be missed.
– I figured Castle On The Hill was going to hit #1 again at some point. I still like it, though, so I’m pleased with this. However, I still want Something Just Like This to hit #1 soon. That would be really nice to see.
– It’s also nice to see Believer in the Top 5. Although I enjoyed other singles from Imagine Dragons, I think this one is pretty solid. But honestly, I don’t really care what it does either way.
– I’m surprised to see Heavy jump back in the Top 10, especially since I haven’t really heard it that much this week. Can’t say I’m complaining though, as I still kinda like that song.
– Why did Play That Song jumped back into the Top 20?! I never really liked it to begin and it’s only gotten worse with every listen.
– We have some very saddening drops this week. The first of which is That’s What I Like, which dropped out of the Top 10 entirely. Here’s to hoping it recovers soon.
– And on that note, both Closer and Mercy dropped out of the Top 20, the latter which had the Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week, which I’m not very thrilled to see. As for the former, that big drop likely indicates that it’s time on the countdown is sadly coming to an end.
– Bad Things also took a big drop as well. With it being in the Bottom 5, it’s not going to be much longer before it leaves, and that’s probably a good thing, because I’ve grew out of that song for some time now.

Songs Debuted This Week One Year Ago:
The color codes I’ll use here and some other stuff I will post are as follows:
Purple – Best Song
Green – Great
Blue – Good
Pink – Decent
Yellow – Mediocre
Turquoise – Bad
Red – Awful
Orange – Worst Song
The Summer Set – Figure Me Out: I like the piano here. While it’s not as good as their other singles (Boomerang, etc.), this is one I can listen to every once in a while.
Jason Derulo – If It Ain’t Love: It was this time last year that Jason Derulo himself debuted with this song right here. Sometimes, I wish this could’ve been a bigger hit, as his recent singles have been flopping lately (outside of Want To Want Me and a few others).
The Chainsmokers featuring Daya – Don’t Let Me Down: This is one of the songs that I think helped them become one the biggest EDM artists of 2016. I definitely like the production here, even if it’s not as good as their other representations currently on the countdown.

Slow Hands jumped 14 spots and not 12.

Nice blog and bad news for you (and me), I think SJLT may have peaked in airplay yesterday.

Yes, I noticed. I'll fix it, and make some more changes as well.

Well, maybe. But when it comes to Hits 1, I doubt it's gonna leave the Top 10 anytime soon because it just entered there last week.

Nice post! But your color for #33 though. 😦

Sorry, man. Like I said, I'm not feeling Kissing Strangers at all. Would rather listen to CBTO or even Toothbrush than this mess. Sorry.
