This was another week in which nothing really happened. I have a feeling this summer lull is going to drag on longer than most of us expected, but I’ll still be able to get my posts out just for you guys to read. There are no songs leaving the countdown this week, so let’s get right to it.

Don’t Be Afraid To Catch Blurbs
– Before introducing This Town, Spyder Harrison mentioned that Niall Horan is currently single because he’s too busy working on his album. I guess he just doesn’t have the time to look for a girlfriend at this moment.
– This is the second week in a row which Swalla had the Biggest DRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week. Pretty sad if you ask me.
– Before introducing Sooner Or Later, Spyder Harrison mentioned that Aaron Carter went to the McDonald’s drive-thru and people immediately recognized him. It looks like the employees there are fans of his music, too.
– So, Taylor Swift did not throw a 4th Of July party this year, huh? I wonder what did she do for the holiday weekend. Maybe had a private gathering, perhaps?
– I’m The One doesn’t seem to be doing much on the countdown as it dropped back into the Top 30 this week. Again, this goes to show that Hits 1 doesn’t really care for hip-hop in general.
– Before Introducing Malibu, Spyder Harrison mentioned that Miley Cyrus credited Liam Hemsworth for helping her get into The Voice with a better attitude. I’ll bet she happy to have the support of her current boyfriend. Also, I heard they canceled their wedding for whatever reason, which was shocking to Hollywood.
– Speaking of Justin Bieber, Despacito took a huge jump into the Top 20. Perfectly fine by me as I consider this song to be better than I’m The One. In fact, both songs are still in the Top 5 on Billboard.
– Ed Sheeran decided to quit Twitter because there were many people saying rude tweets about him. I guess even some of the best singers have haters nowadays.
– We have two Top 10 entrants this week. One is a re-entry from Paris, which I still enjoy. The other is Body Like A Back Road, which I’m not thrilled about. Unfortunately, the latter is not leaving anytime soon, so I’ll have to put up with it.
– Thankfully though, we have There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back at #1 for the 2nd week. I pretty much explained last week that I’ve been enjoying this song more and I personally think it’s the best single from Illuminate. Hopefully, it can stay for as long as it wants.

Songs That Debuted This Week One Year Ago:
Adele – Send My Love (To Your New Lover): While it’s not as good as her other singles from 25, this is still enjoyable for what it is. I’m glad this was mentioned as a summer throwback on last week’s countdown.

You put Castle On The Hill in Hit-Bound, when it should be Galway Girl. Also that throwback and most missed song.

This was the first week since 09/10/16 that HitBound doesn't have any entrants.
I was hoping for it to last a full year but nope.

I mean for having HitBound entrants every week until it lasts a year.

I doubt it'll make Hits 1. It's not very popular anywhere else.

Yes, Chase. It's that old. It's not popular anymore. That would've been nice maybe several months ago.
