Hello, fam! So, I haven’t announced it at all last week, but my blog has reached 30,000 Pageviews! It’s hard to believe I’ve come this far. It seems like yesterday I was just venturing into the world of blogging and now look where it is! I would like to say thank you to all of you who have been reading my blog and I hope you guys enjoyed reading my posts! But that’s not the reason why I’m posting this. I made this post because I have some important things I want to share with you. Yes, I’ll still be doing the Hits 1 Weekend Countdown and the American Top 40 reviews, and I’m not stopping anytime soon. This post is about some stuff that I want to talk about in terms of where this blog is headed going forward.
– I’ll be working on my Year-End posts all throughout this week. So, you can expect some of those to come within the next week, maybe even sooner. That includes the following posts mentioned below:
- My Bottom 10 Songs of 2017
- My Top 45 (or however many) Songs Of 2017
- Billboard Year-End Hot 100 Review
- Some other stuff I won’t mention right now.
– I’ll also try to work on some random posts in the near future, such as Top 10 songs from certain artists, album reviews, etc. Don’t expect those to come this month, though, given that I’ll be busy working on these Year-End posts mentioned above, but it’ll probably be next month or sometime soon.
– There will be a rankdown coming soon. No further details on what that will be about, but I’ll let you guys know when it’s coming once I decide what rankdown I should do. Also, I need some help on how to do it. So, if you can leave a comment below about some advice to give me, that would be nice.
– And finally, there’s something else I want to talk about: if anybody here can give me some advice on how to make the blogging community more interesting, you can leave a comment below if you like. That would be nice if I can get some help here in rebuilding this community.
And that’s pretty much all I’ve got to say. I wanted this to be a longer post explaining some things, but my apologies. I’m not good at those. Anyway, this is basically explaining where this blog is headed going forward. Again, thank you guys for helping my blog reach 30,000 Pageviews! It’s been an honor to be a part of this community and I’m looking forward to sharing more with you guys.
I hope you all have a great Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!Β Oh, and stay frosty!

Hey Montavis. I was wondering something today and I wanted to ask you. I read some Top 45 year-end lists from past years and I was thinking about something. Does every Hits 1 blogger have to use the same rules as each other, or can they make up their own rules?

Well, most of them use the same rules, so I recommend doing the same. As for me, however, I'm going to be doing something different.

I think it would still be fine if you did something different.

About your rankdown comment on my blog, I have a question before I'll tell you. Do you know how to use Excel or Google Sheets?

This is really hard to explain for me unfortunately. But here goes.If you're going to do it on Blogger, this is what I did: First, I set up a page for it. On the page you explain how it works and how to do the rankdown and to provide a link to the form. The form should have 2 answer boxes, one for their (user)name and one for their rankings. Then go to Excel or Google Sheets and set the rankings up each time you get a submission, for example like this:[user A] [user B] [user C][A rank] [B rank] [C rank] Song they ranked[A rank] [B rank] [C rank] Another song[A rank] [B rank] [C rank] Another songThen to the left of the ranks you can use a formula or two for this. For example, if the ranks for one song are in cells E2:G2, type in an empty cell \”=SUM(E2:G2)\”. For average, replace the =SUM with =AVERAGE. If you use only those two formulas, the song with the lowest sum and average (example: 12.47 average) is the winner and the song with the highest sum and average (example: 35.24 average) is last place.
