1. Ed Sheeran – Shape Of You (#1, 10 Weeks)

– I’m quite surprised to see Cheap Thrills repeating this year. I’m willing to bet that it’s longevity on this chart that made it happen.

– I’m also surprised to see that Look What You Made Me Do did not make the list, despite spending only one week at #1. Probably the best answer I can say is because of the fact that it had a short tenure, spending only 11 weeks on the AT40. If I’m correct, this is the shortest chart run for a #1 song.

– It’s pleasing to see Jon Bellion – All Time Low barely scrape onto the list. It’s still a great song, so I have no complaints about seeing it there, even if it is at #40.

– As big as Despacito was, I’m surprised that this one isn’t ranked higher. It barely missed out on the Top 10.

– On the note of other things that surprised me, we have Scars To Your Beautiful in the Top 5. I guess its longevity on this chart is amazing. Not that I’m complaining though; it’s my second-favorite single from Alessia Cara.

– And of course, Shape Of You is #1, as expected. It’s the biggest song of the year and Ed Sheeran’s biggest hit of his career. Like I said, I have no complaints about this as I still love this song, even though some find it old now.
