Hello, fam! This is the last countdown of 2017! This year has gone by so fast! As we head into 2018, I’m hoping things will get better in terms of music. I’m still working on my other Year-End posts, such as My Top 45 Songs of 2017 and the Billboard Year-End Hot 100. They’ll likely be delayed until next week at the latest, due to me being busy with other stuff at this moment. There are no songs leaving the countdown this week, so let’s get right to it.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago:
Hailee Steinfeld & Grey featuring Zedd – Starving (3rd of 4 Weeks at #1)
Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Niall Horan – Slow Hands (–11)
Biggest Jump Of The Week: Walk The Moon – One Foot (+20)
One Blurb In Front Of The Other
– It’s good to see
Halsey back at #1 this week with
Bad At Love. And yes, I have indeed grown back into the song. Like I said before, it’s a much better choice for #1 than its predecessor, as
Hasley shines a little more in this song.
– Speaking of #1, we have three songs that are locks for next year’s Year-End list. Bad At Love, Havana, and Perfect have all recently hit #1 within the past few weeks. Thus, you can expect to see them on Hits 1’s Top 45 of 2018.
– On the note of other good things that happened this week, Dusk Till Dawn makes its arrival into the Top 10. I’m quite shocked to see this one doing a little bit better than I expected to, even though it’s not a big hit elsewhere. But hey, I’m no complaining. Also, before introducing this song, Spyder Harrison mentioned that ZAYN and his girlfriend spent the holidays building gingerbread houses. Oh, Spyder. Are you making me hungry for a gingerbread cookie or something? 😛
– Did we really need Rockstar in the Top 20? How about a big NO. I know it only jumped 4 spots, but still we don’t need anymore bad songs in the Top 20. We already have Meant To Be infecting the Top 15; let’s not get Rockstar any higher, please?
– But on a positive note, we have three songs entering the Top 20. The two being Ahead Of Myself and Good Old Days, which are both really good and I hope they continue their upward trajectory. Then, you also have One Foot taking an enormous jump this week. It’s good to have Walk The Moon back on the countdown, two years after Shut Up And Dance became big.
– Hot Damn made a rather small, but nice recovery after two unnecessary drops in a row. Hopefully it continues to jump.

I knew it was only a matter of time before you put Rockstar in orange.BTW, I was wondering. Which one is worse, Weak or Sober Up?

For me, quite depressing Rockstar is doing well here.

Honestly, both AJR songs suck. But if I had to choose, I'm going with Weak because the chorus all throughout the song is annoying. As for my orange song, it'll probably alternate between Rockstar and Meant To Be until either Sober Up debuts or something worse comes along.

My thoughts. But luckily, since it's Hits 1 and they don't really care for hip-hop/rap, it won't last too long on this countdown.

I'm surprised it even reached the Top 20.

Wait WTF One More Light is still on the countdown? Great post as always BTW.

After looking back at our AJR conversation we had a couple of days ago, are there any songs from AJR that you find good or at least decent? Or do you just despise all of AJR's music?

Hmmm…right now there's two songs in particular. Maybe I'm Ready and I'm Not Famous, both of which were guilty pleasures of mine, in a way. But other than that, their other singles are not good at all for the most part.

WOAH!!!! You seriously like I'm Ready? I honestly did not expect you to like that song, or I'm Not Famous either. I am totally shocked right now. I like I'm Not Famous but I am pretty on and off about I'm Ready in terms of me liking it.

I don't really like them like that. I meant to say I kinda like those songs in a way, but I'm also kinda on and off about them.

So, in case anybody hasn't heard by now, some BIG news: Bruno Mars is going to drop the remix of Finesse which features Cardi B. at midnight, which effectively means it's being pushed as the next single off of 24K Magic. Good news for me, Scott, and maybe Miles. On the note of other new music, I talked about this on Adrian's blog. So, I'm going to say it here also. Justin Timberlake's new single is titled Filthy, and it will be out this Friday. Get excited, everyone.
