Surprise, everyone! Remember when I said my post was going to be delayed? Well I kinda lied, because I’m going to be trying something new. Starting this week, I will be doing the review of Alt Nation’s Alt-8 Countdown. As the name suggests, it counts down the Top 8 alternative songs. It’s very different from both of the countdowns you’ve seen me review on a weekly basis. Let’s get started! Here are the songs that left the countdown this week:

Blurb It Up As I Go
– We got a new #1 song this week from TWENTY ØNE PILØTS. It’s nice to see My Blood take the top spot. It’s not their best song from Trench, but it’s still enjoyable to some degree. Hopefully the song can hold on at #1 for as long as possible.

– Meanwhile, we have Happier still holding at #5. As you can see, I find the song just not good. Marshmello has gotten to the point where he’s just not all that good of an EDM artist (outside of Wolves). The production is not very well done. Not even Bastille could save the song unfortunately.

– Make It Up As I Go it’s a good song and it’s nice to see Linkin Park’s very own Mike Shinoda gain some momentum with the song. I doubt it’ll stay very long, though I do like the song overall.

Now, I’ll be doing a Top 8 Breakdown of all the songs on the countdown. I will use a different grading scale to be a little more fair. Here it is below:

So overall, not bad for my first review. It was a rather nice start for the month of October. I do plan on doing more in the future. Next up is the Hits 1 Weekend Countdown post, which should be ready sometime tomorrow. I hope everyone here has a good weekend so far! 🙂
