Hello, fam! I know I keep saying this. But I’m still working on trying to catch up with my posts. It’s still been a slow process. Here is yet another late AT40 post. Let’s get into things. Before we get to this week’s fresh 40, here are the songs we’re saying goodbye to this week:
- Please Me by Cardi B featuring Bruno Mars (#14)
Blurb Up Late
– So, for our exit, Please Me left from a very high position. And while it wasn’t special like its predecessor, I did enjoy the song somewhat. But I wasn’t too surprised about its departure given that it has died down elsewhere.
– It’s definitely refreshing to see a new #1 dethrone the mess that is of 7 Rings. I’m just happy that Sucker ended up taking the top spot. I’m sure it’ll probably stay up there for a while at least, given that the song is.
– Dancing With A Stranger has now entered the Top 5! It’s nice to see the song still gaining momentum. I would like to see that at #1 soon, but I’m cool with Sucker having its reign first (so long as we keep 7 Rings out).
– Of course, Old Town Road ends up having the Biggest Rise Of The Week despite how terrible the song is. This is one of the worst country songs I’ve ever heard since a certain song I won’t mention. I already know it’s going to stick around for a long while, so I’ll have to get used to it.
– We also get a big jump from Cool, which I’m cool with (see what I did there)., even though that song isn’t amazing either. Normally with a jump like this, I would think it’ll stick around for a while. But considering the song isn’t doing well in sales, I don’t see it lasting too long.

Songs That Debuted This Week One Year Ago:
Everybody Hates Me by The Chainsmokers: Weak vocals from Drew Taggart, combined with the underwhelming production just makes the song not a fun listen. This was The Chainsmokers hitting rock bottom. They have done much better.
