New Entrants:
– Remember Daddy Yankee? You know the guy behind one of the biggest hits of 2017, Despacito? Well, he’s back, and he’s collaborating with Katy Perry in Con Calma. Now, this is nowhere near as good as Despacito, but I do like what the song is going for. It’s a little different for Katy, but it’s nice to know that she can sing Spanish. The Latin vibe here is great, and I think the verses flow nicely. Overall, this is a good song.
– Now, for our biggest debut of the week, we have Taylor Swift who makes her comeback this week! She is collaborating with Brendon Urie in their new single titled ME!. The song is different compared to her singles from Reputation, which I thought was decent even though it wasn’t her best album. It reminds me more of the singles from 1989. Taylor and Brendon both have great chemistry together. I think the chorus is just awesome and I like the catchy beat. So yeah, I’m in love with this and it’ll likely be staying for a long while, and I’m cool with that!
Best Debut Of The Week: ME! by Taylor Swift featuring Brendon Urie
Hey, Kids! Blurbs Are Fun!
– Dang! I didn’t really expect Undrunk to leave us so soon! Early on, I thought it had the potential to be a sleeper hit. But I guess the momentum died down quickly. Meanwhile, the departure of Low Key was pleasing. I still like Ally Brooke and I’m looking forward to more music. But this was just disappointing debut single for her. I’m glad it didn’t end up becoming the next Havana.
– Other than ME!, we get another Top 10 entrant in the form of Old Town Road, which I’m not thrilled about. I’m sure most people here know how I feel about the song. The song straight up sucks and doesn’t deserve to be in the Top 10. Unfortunately, I know it’s going to be here to stay for a while.
– I’m not all that thrilled about Wow. being in the Top 5 either. The song is just underwhelming, especially when it comes to the production. Post has done better.
– Talk is gaining momentum, which I’m not all that happy about. I would prefer if this didn’t become a hit. There’s really nothing special about the song. Khalid has done better in my opinion.
