New Entrants:
– This week, we get the big return of Selena Gomez. She has two songs making their debut. I’m going to start with the least interesting one in the form of Look At Her Now. Right off the bat, I’m not feeling this one. I don’t really like the production in a way and the chorus is irritating. The way she goes “mm-mm” turns me off. I get what it’s going for, but I think it was poorly executed. I don’t have much else to say. Yeah, I’m not a fan of this.
– But fortunately, she has another song debuting alongside it. It’s titled Lose You To Love Me. I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I actually really love this song overall. It basically tells a story about going through a painful experience with love and it’s something we can relate to. The production is pretty damn solid and I like the songwriting here. Selena sounds amazing and that chorus is good. I’m glad this was her first ever #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. It took a while, but I’m happy that she was finally able to get a massive hit with this song. It’s nice to have Selena back. 🙂
Best Debut Of The Week: Selena Gomez – Lose You To Love Me
I Needed To Lose You To Blurb Me
– So, we have two exits. First up is Roaring 20s, which becomes Panic! At The Disco’s first flop on Hits 1 since I don’t know how long. Feels like it’s been a while since a song from Brendon Urie and company left this early, especially since Hits 1 has fallen in love with them over the years. Dream Boy I thought was pretty cool and I enjoyed it for a while, but I knew it wouldn’t last.
– In terms of the Top 5, we get entrants from Circles and Nice To Meet Ya. The former I’m actually surprised about in a way because Post Malone’s music typically doesn’t last very long on Hits 1. But at the same time, it is a huge hit elsewhere. I’m fine with this being up there since I do kinda like the song. Nice To Meet Ya was bound to enter the region at some point in time. Looks like people were happy to have Niall Horan back after a while.
– It was really only a matter of time until Teeth made its way into the Top 10. I’m okay with this one sticking around for a little while as opposed to Easier, which thankfully dropped out of the Top 10. Now if we can at least swap places with Who Do You Love, that’d be great.
– TWENTY ØNE PILØTS are definitely living up to The Hype as their song takes a nice jump into the Top 10 as well. I’m glad this is their highest-peaking single off of Trench as opposed to their last countdown song, Chlorine, which only peaked at #11. We’ll see how long it lasts.
– There were some noticeable drops this week. But the one I want to talk about was Sucker finally dropping out of the Top 10. This is the first time it’s not in that region. Looks like the end may be finally near.
– Yeah…I just listened to How Do You Sleep? many times and believe it or not, I actually do not dislike it. I mean, I’m still not a fan of the drop. It brings the song down for me. But I can kinda appreciate what the song is going for.
– Speaking of the Jonas Brothers, I’m very glad that Cool had the “Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week”! I’ve decided between Nightmare and Cool for my worst song, and I’ve stuck with the latter because I realized how stupid the lyrics really are. And their weak vocal performance only makes matter worse. I just couldn’t take anymore of that song. Hopefully it can leave soon.

Entrant Reviews:
– Lil Nas X has been a big name this year following the success of Old Town Road, which has become the longest running #1 song of all time on the Billboard Hot 100. This week, he brings us Panini. I actually think this is pretty decent. It’s better than Old Town Road in a way. I’m still not too fond of his voice. But I kinda like the production here.
– Next is more of Post Malone with an interesting collaboration. He teams up with Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott in their new single Take What You Want. I find this to actually be really good and probably one of my favorites from Hollywood’s Bleeding. I like the chemistry between them. Their verses are good and I like the beat, as well as the electric guitar. It sounds pretty cool. I’m hoping it can debut soon.
– Hot Chelle Rae make their comeback this week as they bring us I Hate LA. I’m not too familiar with most of their music, given that I haven’t really heard them back in the day. But I kinda dig that new song of theirs. The instrumentation is pretty solid and I quite like their vocals. Not much else I can say after that.
– Who remembers Sofi Tukker? You know, the duo who bought us Best Friend from two years ago? No? Well, they makes their return with her new single Purple Hat. It took me a few listens, but I can say that I actually like this quite a bit. The beat is cool and I like the rest of the song here. That’s all I have to say about this one.

Songs That Debuted This Week One Year Ago:
Alex Aiono – Big Mistake: A good first impression for this new artist. I like the production here and his voice sounds good. I haven’t heard much from him since he released this, mostly because he is irrelevant. I’m interested to see what he brings.
Ariana Grande – Breathin’: Another highlight off of Sweetener. Too bad it’s momentum ended up stalling elsewhere following the abrupt release of Thank U, Next. But I’m glad this was able to become a moderate hit and it’ll likely be on the Year-End list for 2019 (on Billboard).
Hello, fam! Yes, I know. This is a late post. My apologies. I kinda got busy during the week with some other stuff. Plus, laziness became a weakness this week.
